Health and sporting activities

The activities carried out include), Table tennis, Chess, various indoor games, karate classes, yoga classes, healthy eating classes using own kitchen, Five a side football Karate, Ladies Zumba Classes, Yoga Classes, Badminton (men and women), Cricket Club, Cookery Classes, Gym for Ladies and Gents and Health Awareness Sessions.

Zumba is an aerobic fitness programme featuring movements inspired by various styles of Latin American dance. This exercise class is very popular and the group comes together every Wednesday and Thursday for one hour.

The PAL Centre organises a Luncheon Club for elders within the local community, so that they can maintain a healthy social life. The elders come together after Jumma Prayers to enjoy a meal and to discuss a variety of topics New members are always welcome to join the group.

This class is for beginners who would like to learn how to sew using a sewing machine and for experienced sewers who would like to expand their skills; the group meets every week for two hours. .

Throughout the year, we hold health awareness sessions on a range of health issues affecting Black and Minority Ethnic communities in Liverpool. To date we have held sessions on Oral Health, Healthy Eating, Cancer and Mental Health Awareness.

Throughout the year, we hold Health Screening Sessions facilitated by student doctors from the local universities.
The sessions will involve a general health check up including blood pressure and BMI checks.

Fun sessions open to everyone; just turn up and join in. There are separate sessions for men and women, equipment will be provided and refreshments will be available to purchase.

Join us for some gentle exercise and stretching with a professional yoga instructor. This class is suitable for all skills and ability levels. Even if it’s your first time trying yoga, you are welcome to come! You will need to wear comfortable clothing and bring your own yoga mat.

To achieve you’re your health and fitness goals in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, come down to PAL Fitness Centre. If you’d feel better in a female only environment, you’ve come to the right place.


zumbaLove Football – why not join our five a side football team. We are open to everyone, of all ages and abilities; we play twice a week on site or at the Powerleague Liverpool. You will need suitable footwear and sports attire.


zumbaThe cricket club is open to everyone, of all ages and abilities. We play twice weekly at either Sefton Park or Wavertree Botanic Gardens. All equipment is provided, please wear appropriate footwear and sports attire.


zumba Do you want to improve your cooking skills? Then come along to our healthy vegetarian cooking classes. Classes are held weekly in our state of the art kitchen here at the PAL Centre. Women only, all ages and abilities welcome.

Join us for a fun day out, throughout the year we arrange day trips to various destinations across the country. Look out for information on our face book page or our website. Tickets available at a subsidised rate.



Cultural and social activities

Religious, social and cultural celebrations of different ethnic communities inviting local providers and dignitaries to attend to engage with and understand each other. There are Poetry, music and dance evenings as well as the provision of a library and IT room for classes. There is affordable hall hire for birth, wedding, funeral ceremonies and marriage introduction events. Elders lunch Club, day trips. Sewing Classes.

Welfare Service

There are regular welfare meetings and seminars with interpretation on such issues as, housing, education, benefits, employment, immigration, crime and safety, Health awareness (disease prevention on issues such as stroke, heart disease, diabetes, and smoking cessation).
